人腦有一個特點，對某個信息要反復刺激才能記住。循環記憶法，就是基於這點。它的訣竅，就是二二循環，在不斷的快速循環記憶中記牢單詞。我國在五十年代廣泛推廣俄語時，就是採用這個方法來達到俄語速成的。
一般的人，在叫熟練掌握它後，能每小時記住100個單詞。有的人還可以記住150個單詞。而我的平均速度，達到225個（曾表演過）。其具體步驟如下：
先根據自己的記憶力，將需背的單詞分成若干組（為方便敘述，這里設為 a,b,c,d,....組），平均每組4-6個單詞。當然，這也要依單詞難易而定。若單詞較長，或詞義教多，則每組單詞少一點；反之，多一些。
然後：
（1）學習A組，學完後，復習A組一次。（關於如何記，見後注意事項）
（2）學習B組，再復習B組一次。
（3）把A、B組和起來復習一次。

（4）學習C組，復習C組。
（5）學習D組，復習D組。
（6）把C，D組和起來復習一次。

（7）復習A、B、C、D組一次。

（8）仿照前面七個步驟，學習，復習E、F、G、H組。

（9）把A、B、C、D、E、F、G、H組和起來再復習一次。

（10）再仿照前九個步驟，學習，復習I，J，K，L，M，N，O，P組。

（11）把A，B，C，........M，N，O，P 組再和起來復習。

（12）按這種方法，學習，復習接下去的第17組---第32組。

（13）然後把這32組單詞和起來復習一次。
