大學英語六級作文部分閱卷標准分為5等：2分、5分、8分、11分和14分。
2分(14)——條理不清，思路紊亂，語言支離破碎或大部分句子均有錯誤，且多數為嚴重錯誤。
5分(35)——基本切題，表達思想不夠清楚，連貫性差，有較多的嚴重錯誤。
8分(56)——基本切題，有些地方表達思想不夠清楚，文字勉強連貫，語言錯誤相當多，其中有一些是嚴重錯誤。
11分(78)——切題，表達思想清楚，文字連貫，但有少量語言錯誤。
14分(99）——切題，表達思想清楚，文字通順，連貫較好，基本上無語言錯誤，僅有個別小錯。
另有各檔次標准樣卷，閱卷人員參照樣卷對考生的作文進行評分，首先看考生的作文和哪個檔次的樣卷接近，然後上下浮動1分。字數不足應酌情扣分：

白卷，作文與題目毫不相關，或只有幾個孤立的詞而無法表達思想的，判為0分。
英語六級考試中翻譯部分佔總分的15%，即106.5，在這部分你要達到63.9分為及格。
分為六個檔次：13-15分、10-12分、7-9分、4-6分、1-3分和0分，各檔次的評分標准如下：
13-15分譯文准確表達了原文的意思。用詞貼切，行文流暢，基本上無語言錯誤，僅有個別小錯。
10-12分譯文基本上表達了原文的意思。文字通順、連貫，無重大語言錯誤。
7-9分譯文勉強表達了原文的意思。用詞欠准確，語言錯誤相當多，其中有些是嚴重語言錯誤。
4-6分譯文僅表達了一小部分原文的意思。用詞不準確，有相當多的嚴重語言錯誤。
1-3分譯文支離破碎。除個別詞語或句子，絕大部分文字沒有表達原文意思。
0分未作答，或只有幾個孤立的詞，或譯文與原文毫不相關。
所以，想要英語六級作文和翻譯兩部分一共達到140分還是有一點難度的。
