英語四級聽力音頻是86.6赫茲。
大學英語四級考試，即CET-4，College English Test Band 4的縮寫，是由國家教育部高等教育司主持的全國性教學考試。考試的主要對象是根據教育大綱修完大學英語四級的在校大學本科生或研究生。大學英語四、六級標准化考試自1986年末開始籌備，1987年正式實施。
英語四級考試目的是推動大學英語教學大綱的貫徹執行，對大學生的英語能力進行客觀、准確的測量，為提高我國大學英語課程的教學質量服務。國家教育部委託「全國大學英語四、六級考試委員會」（1993年前名為「大學英語四、六級標准化考試設計組」）負責設計、組織、管理與實施大學英語四、六級考試。
大學英語考試根據理工科本科和文理科本科用的兩個《大學英語教學大綱》，由教育部（原國家教育委員會）高等教育司組織的全國統一的單科性標准化教學考試，分大學英語四級考試（CET-4）和大學英語六級考試（CET-6）兩種。每年考試過後8月份或9月份公布成績並頒發成績單，根據教育部規定四六級考試不設置及格線，四級425分以上可以報考六級，所以大家普遍認為四六級的合格線為425分。英語四六級的總分為710分。報名時間CET全國英語四六級考試的考試時間為：每年6月份、12月份（每年時間略有不同）。
現在的四級考試為機考。
A、首先是考試形式：
答題的介質由紙筆更換為計算機與網路。
B、其次是考試內容：由於聽力在考察過程中佔了很大的比例，從這點上說，改革後的四六級更注重對學生語言交流能力的考查。
板塊結構與分值設定為70分聽力30分閱讀。這個說法未免有些誇大其詞。我們一起來看一下08年12月某高校四級機考流程以及分值安排：
①視頻理解：Main Ideas and Important Details根據一段視頻(五分鍾左右)回答問題 選擇題 25%一段來自某個電視節目或實際生活的視頻(五分鍾左右)聽或看三段錄音或者視頻(一般2段音頻和1段視頻)，內容涉及講座/報告，對話/訪談，或者新聞。一般選自CNN，VOA，BBC等。
②聽力填空：Listening-based Intergrated Dictation視頻會話按句重播，填出句中的關鍵詞 填空題10%
③會話跟讀：Listening and Repeating視頻會話按句重播，語音識別考生復述 錄音題10%
④閱讀理解：Reading ComprehensionSection A: Reading in Depth 傳統閱讀 選擇題 20%Section B: Skimming and Scanning 快速閱讀 判斷或選擇與填空 10%
⑤語法句型：Grammar and StructureSection A: Blank Filling 以視頻和閱讀材料為基礎，回答語法問題 填空題5%Section B: Translation 以視頻和閱讀材料為基礎，完成翻譯 填空題 5%
⑥話題寫作：Summary and Commeting以視頻和閱讀材料為基礎，完成命題作文 作文題15%
C、最後是考試時間：傳統的紙筆考試是從上午9點至11點20分，而新四級機考時間為上午9點至11點，比原來少了20分鍾。
