讀了《城南舊事》中的「惠安館」一文，我感慨萬千。
「惠安館」寫了惠安館看門人的女兒秀貞怎麼被看為瘋子，小英子怎麼與她成為朋友，還幫她找女兒小桂子，原來小英子的好友——妞兒竟是小桂子。最後小英子又送秀貞母女倆上火車離開北京，去找思康三叔的事兒。
在文中，秀貞是北京婦孺皆知的大瘋子。在大人們的誇張下，使小孩子們都不敢接近她，甚至不敢從惠安館門口經過（文中的妞兒就是一例）。但林海音就與別人不一樣。她大膽，冷靜，愛交朋友。從一開始因為好奇與秀貞接觸，直到天天早上去秀貞那兒玩，還為秀貞守住秘密。沒過多少時間，林海音不管他人怎樣看待秀貞，但她天天與秀貞玩在一塊。她的這種行為在常人眼裡不可思議。
也許，在生活中，好心人往往會長著一張不太好看的臉，而有些壞人卻長著一張漂亮的臉蛋。使得很多人把好心的勸告當作「惡語傷人」。而把那些「偽君子」的誤導當成「好言相勸」，而毀了自己的一生。常言道：人不可貌相，海水不可斗量。分辨一個人是好人還是壞蛋，不能從他（她）的外表上去判斷，得看他（她）的本質。
就像現在的企業老闆們，一個個都說什麼工廠快不行了，公司要倒閉了，可是這些聲稱要倒閉的工廠和企業，那些一線的工人們仍然在為他們不停的工作著，他們的目的是想減少員工的工資，把本該給工人們的錢收入自己的囊中。還有，有些廠家天天在喊「虧本大處理」，可有哪一個是真正虧本的？在這陰險的言語後面，是一張張被金錢與貪婪脹胖的臉，他們原來的好材料換成劣質的，不知坑害了多少消費者。
所以，我們不要以貌取人，耳邊要時時刻刻警鍾長鳴。
