In my view, English should not a elective. In other words, it should absolutely be a major. Remember that in primary school, middle school, we all have to learn English as
an important subjuct, so we should continue studying it. There are a few benefits of learning English. First of all, English is a language which is different from our first language, Chinese. What's more, the language which most of the people in the world speak is English. So if we learn it well, it can help you to solve a lot of trouble. Imagine you are a travell-lover and you want to travel around the world, however you can't speak English well and you can't understand what the others say. What would you do at that time? Will you regret? Maybe you will say:" If I learned
English well, I wouldn't be so confused." In order not to regret in the future, I think we must learn English well. Secondly, if you want to work in in a company which links to foreign countries, you must have a good skill of English, otherwise you will lose your chance. So don't let English be your pity. 五月三十一日，六年級和一年級的同學們在分部參加了一次義賣活動。活動方法是每個班准備一個具有本班特色的商店，由本班的學生擔任服務員，出售不需要的，七八成新的物品。
三十一日早晨，同學們都早早地來到了學校，忙著搬桌椅、做橫幅，一些班幹部不停地跑上跑下，尋找安排好的服務員分配一些簡單的准備工作，或小跑著搬運要出售的物品。離活動開始還有十分鍾，我們的商店就已經基本布置好了。站在校門口向大操場望去，十三個小小的商店擺滿了各式各樣、花花綠綠的物品，店牌上五顏六色的藝術字十分顯眼，使我看了都想馬上去購物了。一年級的小同學戴著各種小頭飾，在他們的商店邊上跑來跑去，迫不及待想要馬上開始活動。
隨著老師說出「活動開始」這幾個字，全場沸騰了。每個同學的臉上都露出興奮的神情。一個個小商店馬上被人群包圍了，售貨員的吆喝聲，「顧客」們的叫聲、討價聲響成一片。各班分配好的人員正在工作：宣傳員忙不迭地發著傳單；環保員快速地從地上撿起一片片廢紙；市場管理員跑到售貨員面前，正在說著什麼；推銷員親熱地招呼著顧客……我們的老師也加入了進來。他手裡拿著收款箱，一會兒拿起小飾品向同學們展示，一會兒又放開他的大嗓門吆喝，吸引了很多外班同學。
活動還在進行著，許多同學的書包已經滿滿的了。一個同學向我展示他買的商品---一本書、一個頭飾、毛絨玩具、還有一個鑰匙鏈。他高興地告訴我鑰匙鏈只花了五角錢，不但比商店裡買的便宜多了，質量也不差。我也買了許多東西，其中一本名著只花了兩元錢。這個價錢真的很合算。
活動結束了。各班的商品都賣完了。同學們抱著鼓鼓的書包，美滋滋地回了教室。我們班總共賣出了1100元，這可是班裡所有工作人員換來的。這次義賣活動讓我們體驗到了勞動的樂趣，同時也為學校的建設出了一份力，真是一舉兩得。它令我難忘
