一、 整體構成
雅思聽力分為4部分，一共40題。第一、三部分是對話，第二、四部分是獨白，總時長在20到25分鍾之間。每部分單詞在800-900個之間，只能聽一遍，一旦走神就會錯過答案。但雅思的聽力問題通過試卷給出，考生在聽之前可以先瀏覽將要聽到的問題。
托福聽力分為6部分，內含2-3個對話和4-6個講座。每個對話後有5個問題，講座後有6個問題，數目是固定的，總的時長在60到90分鍾之間。每段對話詞數在600個左右，講座單詞數在800-1000個。聽力錄音的停頓多，對學生短時記憶的要求高。
二、 題型
雅思聽力題型豐富，常見的有四種：選擇題、表格題、完成句子和問答題。選擇題考查邊聽邊讀的能力，後三種考查邊聽邊寫的能力。地圖題和搭配題是屬於次常考題型，地圖題考查聽辨方向的能力。搭配題則要聽的時候閱讀多個題乾和選項。不經常出現的題型有：圖畫題、圖示題、推理題和判斷題。雅思聽力重點考查聽細節的能力，很少涉及主旨。
托福聽力，准確地來說，只有一種題型——選擇題。也就是說，托福考試中沒有需要拼寫答案的題目。題目細分為三個類型：主旨、細節題;情景理解題;整合信息題。
三、 場景
雅思聽力中有兩大場景：生活類和學術類。前兩部分題目考生活，後兩部分題目考學術。生活類場景包括：租房、談論家鄉、旅遊度假以及對於一些活動的介紹等。學術類包括：新生入學、介紹圖書館;作業、研究、寫論文;講座等。
托福聽力中也分生活和學術兩類場景。但是，托福考試中絕大部分都是學術類，關於生活類的主要涉及食宿。學術類的有關於作業、論文等，在對話中出現。講座中會則出現四類話題：藝術，生命科學，自然科學，社會科學。
四、 評分標准
雅思考試的評分標准從0到9分，有半分。答對18到24個題目，得5.5到6分;答對25-31個題目，得6.5到7分;答對32-36個題目，得7.5到8分，以此類推。7分以上算優秀的成績。
托福考試的分數范圍大，答對33-34個題目，得28到30分;答對31-32個題目，得26到29分;答對29-30個題目得25到27分，以此類推。25分以上算優秀的成績。
從考試題目的量上來看，托福的題量要更大一些，但從題型的復雜程度來看，托福卻比雅思簡單。大多數英語國家要求雅思成績6.5到7.5分並對單項成績有所要求，而要求托福的成績則是80-100分，實際上對聽力部分的要求為20-25分。
綜上所述，關於托福難還是雅思難的問題，二者並沒有很明顯的差距，要根據考生自己特長或者強項來決定，托福和雅思是中國學生前往英語國家留學必備的重要語言考試，只要考生認真對待，肯定會取得不錯的成績!。

根據考試的4個評分標准，流利度，發音，語法，詞彙量來簡單說一下：覺得前面三點是最需要注意的，詞彙量是靠平時積累。
講英文口語的語感很重要。平時多背誦一些經典小故事。但是內容一定不要太難。也可以進行復述練習。學習語言和記憶是分不開的而記憶的最初階段就是背誦了剛開始的時候，不建議是因為備考雅思，就一定背誦雅思口語的資料。有的雅思口語書用的詞比較復雜，如果一貫的去背誦會很明顯的流露出背誦的痕跡。
