The Lion and the Mouse
A Lion was awakened from sleep by a Mouse running over his face. Rising up angrily, he caught him and was about to kill him, when the Mouse piteously entreated, saying: "If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness." The Lion laughed and let him go. It happened shortly after this that the Lion was caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong ropes to the ground. The Mouse, recognizing his roar, came and gnawed the rope with his teeth and set him free, exclaiming:
"You ridiculed the idea of my ever being able to help you, expecting to receive from me any repayment of your favor; now you know that it is possible for even a Mouse to con benefits on a Lion."

Dear teachers, students:
I am very happy to meet with you here today to tell you my speech is entitled "English, so I am happy."
English, spread to all over the world, people talk about memorization. Since my time in first grade began to learn English, I was not interested in it, but the third and fourth grade, when a sudden interest in reading in English every day, and even self-learning, to raise a lot of English results .
Now, my greatest interest is the time to see the English. Each weekend, I always find time to read English books or see on the English comic books, information books, and even outside the time when shopping, but also with some English information on the book, simply put it down.
Each school, I sometimes went to the library of books on English, a view that is 30 minutes, the harvest has been so many.

Last year, my boyfriend suggested that I should run the London marathon, and I laughed. He laughed too, but he laughed too long and too loud. That made me think. I realized that he didn't believe that I could do it. That made me angry,and determined. Now he knows that I can !
Training wasn't easy, but I kept going. I didn't need special training but I did need to buy very good shoes. Each day,I went a little further. By the end of three months, I was running five days a week. Sometimes in the evenings I ran 10km;on Sunday mornings, I sometimes ran about 30km.
On the day of the race in London, I lined up with about 30,000 other runners. For the first ]0km I felt very happy and my legs felt very comfortable. At the 30km mark, I felt exhausted, and wanted to stop, but I kept on going.
By the time I reached the 35km mark, I knew I was going to get to the end of the course. Somehow that confidence made me feel lighter and faster. As I came round the last bend and saw the finishing line, I could see three runners ahead of me. I raced past all of them to finish the race in just under four hours. The winner had completed the race in 2 hours and 10 minutes, but I didn't care! I had run 42km and completed my first marathon !

Learn to Say No
In our daily life, we feel pleased if our requirement is accepted by others. And we will appear embarrassed when others refuse to accept what we say. However, now and then it is necessary and important to say “no”.
For example, ring the exam , if somebody wants to our answers, it is time to say “no” to them. I know it will hurt the one who is in need of my help, but the exam is a chance to help you find out what you are not good at. If I offer the answers to him at this time, I’m sure the person who succeeds in cheating will not know about his disadvantages. Therefore, he will lose the opportunity to figure out what he should pay attention to. What’s more, he will try to cheat in the future again. What about the result?
Once, it was difficult for me to say “no” to my friends in such cases. But I realized it did great harm to my dear friends. So, I made up my mind to say “no”. At first, they couldn’t understand me. In their opinion, a good friend shouldn’t say “no” when they are in trouble. But I explained to them why I did so. At the same time, I spared my effort to study with them in my free time. By studying together, I helped my friends to study well. Thus, they broke out of the habit of cheating while taking exams, because they could complete exams by themselves with high marks. Then they realized what a good friend should do.
So, you see, sometimes it is a good way to help others by saying “no”. Only in this way can we remain an honest person , besides we offer great help to others actually.
