A. 求雅思英语作文

If you wanna talk about playground legends, the conversation begins right there. Demetrius "Hook" Mitchell is the legend. You can hear all the stories in the world, but you'll never believe it until you see it. He's done inhuman stuff, unreal stuff.

was by far the best player to come out of Oakland. Demetrius Hook Mitchell is the Bay's most notorious legend. Every cat with at least minimal knowledge of playground ball has a Hook Mitchell story. The tales of his leaping ability are common place. Jumping over cars, bikes and people wasn't no thing to Hook. Before his descent into narcotics hell, Hook was nothing but heavenly. If he'd just kept his head straight, he'd be in the league right now, dominating.

Unfortunately, Hook lives in a prison cell now and in other folks' memories.

Several NBA stars who also grew up in Oakland, including Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Antonio Davis, Drew Gooden, and Brian Shaw, all of whom played with Mitchell on the streets, and were astonished by his skills, but were unable to help him avoid his sorry fate. They describe his unstable home life and the longing for community that drove him to the streets. Mitchell himself is shown playing prison league games, and is surprisingly still able to play above the rim.

His story, like others, was written on courts between the West and East Bay.

Instrial arts and metalworking, for example, are areas of general ecation that deals with technology and instry. In the past, most schools required boys to take instrial arts. Today, though most courses in these fields are coecational, yet only a small number of female students study these subjects because they require manual skills and mental abilities as most graates in manufacturing fields work in factories where working conditions include high levels of st, heat, or noise. Some factory jobs also require great strength or standing for long periods. However, university home economics programs that aim to train people to work as professional home economists attract many people, especially women as many of these professionals work in the food, housing, and clothing instries. Some work in the fields of design, marketing, nutrition, or family services; others communicate information to consumers or teach skills used in the home. More women serve in the field of nursing than in any other profession except teaching. Most nurses are women. The proportion of female enrollment in nursing programs, therefore, predominates in medical colleges. To conclude, the proportion of gender in university’s enrollment, in general, is determined by distinct features of the subjects and personal choices, instead of strict regulations. Technology emerged as soon as human race came into this world and began to fight for surviving. In the early stage, technology served as the implements for human beings to conquer the nature. In the process of struggling against all the menaces of the nature, our ancestors have generalized and accumulated all sorts of experience, and also created a series of technology in order to help the descendents to adapt the environment. This circumstance has been continued until the technology that accumulated by human race are powerful enough to overcome most of the threats of the nature. Then the twofold use of technology began to appear. On the one hand, the technology has made the dominators possible to strive for convenient and luxurious life. On the other hand, the governors also use it to quash the rebellions and exploit their people, even sometime, to fight with other nations. With the advent of the Instrial Revolution, technology began to contribute to the majority of human beings. The great improvement of modern technology has eventually increased the efficiency of people’ life, and also makes it possible for most indivials to possess a large amount of leisure time.
In today's rapid changing society, it is hard to allege that the increasing of people's efficiency and hence enable most of people have more leisure time are the primary goal of technological advancement. As is so often pointed out, modern technology make the relationship between people become more impersonal and aloof. The early initiative handicraft has been replaced by assembly line of machinery, and the works' jobs are always unutterably boring. The bargaining between people also gives its ways to the high efficient trade in the supermarket. So, spectacles above are the primary goal of the modern technology, it bound to raise many persons' unsatisfactory.

F. 求批改英语作文(IELTS)

Men and women are different in terms of their characteristics and abilities. For this reason, some jobs are better done by men and others by women.
Do you agree or disagree?

Should men and women be equal? This is a much talked about question nowadays. In fact, sex is always a barrier for a woman to achieve their success in her career. I firmly believe that women should be given the same right as men, because they are equally important in all human activities.

First of all, with the rapidly development of society and economy, there have emerged many working opportunities and women are certainly as intelligent as men if they have a same ecation. Therefore, some high-level jobs are more occupied by women than the past. As this result, it proved that women have the same abilities as men. Personally, it is a mistake to base our views on broad generalizations about the abilities of men and women and it should be according to indivial abilities and not focus on the gender.

Secondly, the characteristics of men and women as such stereotypes are often inaccurate. Not all women are bad at business, just as not all men are poor interpersonal communicators. For example, if men are often calm and thoughtfully, but some men are more careless and hesitant than women? Beside, if women are always sensitive, then what would you say when they are insensitive in work or interpersonal. Obviously, there are no absolute advantages when considering their gender.

In conclusion, as a man, I would hopefully see that more outstanding women can be working their favourite jobs and can get their desirable position. Because a person’ indivial ability is far more important than their gender.

这篇文章就不错,你把它改一下就可以了GUIDELINES ON PROTECTION FROM EXPOSURE TO TOBACCO SMOKE PURPOSE, OBJECTIVES AND KEY CONSIDERATIONS
Purpose of the guidelines
1. Consistent with other provisions of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control
and the intentions of the Conference of the Parties, these guidelines are intended to assist Parties
in meeting their obligations under Article 8 of the Convention. They draw on the best available
evidence and the experience of Parties that have successfully implemented effective measures to
rece exposure to tobacco smoke.
2. The guidelines contain agreed upon statements of principles and definitions of relevant
terms, as well as agreed upon recommendations for the steps required to satisfy the obligations of
the Convention. In addition, the guidelines identify the measures necessary to achieve effective
protection from the hazards of second-hand tobacco smoke. Parties are encouraged to use these
guidelines not only to fulfil their legal ties under the Convention, but also to follow best
practices in protecting public health.
Objectives of the guidelines
3. These guidelines have two related objectives. The first is to assist Parties in meeting their
obligations under Article 8 of the WHO Framework Convention, in a manner consistent with the
scientific evidence regarding exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke and the best practice
worldwide in the implementation of smoke free measures, in order to establish a high standard of
accountability for treaty compliance and to assist the Parties in promoting the highest attainable
standard of health. The second objective is to identify the key elements of legislation necessary to
effectively protect people from exposure to tobacco smoke, as required by Article 8.
Underlying considerations
4. The development of these guidelines has been influenced by the following fundamental
considerations.
(a) The ty to protect from tobacco smoke, embodied in the text of Article 8, is
grounded in fundamental human rights and freedoms. Given the dangers of breathing
second-hand tobacco smoke, the ty to protect from tobacco smoke is implicit in, inter
alia, the right to life and the right to the highest attainable standard of health, as recognized
in many international legal instruments (including the Constitution of the World Health
Organization, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the
Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Covenant on Economic,
Social and Cultural Rights), as formally incorporated into the preamble of the WHO
Framework Convention and as recognized in the constitutions of many nations.
(b) The ty to protect indivials from tobacco smoke corresponds to an obligation
by governments to enact legislation to protect indivials against threats to their
fundamental rights and freedoms. This obligation extends to all persons, and not merely to
certain populations.
2
(c) Several authoritative scientific bodies have determined that second-hand tobacco
smoke is a carcinogen. Some Parties to the WHO Framework Convention (for example,
Finland and Germany) have classified second-hand tobacco smoke as a carcinogen and
included the prevention of exposure to it at work in their health and safety legislation. In
addition to the requirements of Article 8, therefore, Parties may be obligated to address the
hazard of exposure to tobacco smoke in accordance with their existing workplace laws or
other laws governing exposure to harmful substances, including carcinogens.
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES AND RELEVANT DEFINITIONS
UNDERLYING PROTECTION FROM EXPOSURE TO TOBACCO SMOKE
Principles
5. As noted in Article 4 of the WHO Framework Convention, strong political commitment is
necessary to take measures to protect all persons from exposure to tobacco smoke. The following
agreed upon principles should guide the implementation of Article 8 of the Convention.
Principle 1
6. Effective measures to provide protection from exposure to tobacco smoke, as envisioned
by Article 8 of the WHO Framework Convention, require the total elimination of smoking and
tobacco smoke in a particular space or environment in order to create a 100% smoke free
environment. There is no safe level of exposure to tobacco smoke, and notions such as a threshold
value for toxicity from second-hand smoke should be rejected, as they are contradicted by
scientific evidence. Approaches other than 100% smoke free environments, including ventilation,
air filtration and the use of designated smoking areas (whether with separate ventilation systems
or not), have repeatedly been shown to be ineffective and there is conclusive evidence, scientific
and otherwise, that engineering approaches do not protect against exposure to tobacco smoke.
Principle 2
7. All people should be protected from exposure to tobacco smoke. All indoor workplaces
and indoor public places should be smoke free.
Principle 3
8. Legislation is necessary to protect people from exposure to tobacco smoke. Voluntary
smoke free policies have repeatedly been shown to be ineffective and do not provide adequate
protection. In order to be effective, legislation should be simple, clear and enforceable.
Principle 4
9. Good planning and adequate resources are essential for successful implementation and
enforcement of smoke free legislation.
3
Principle 5
10. Civil society has a central role in building support for and ensuring compliance with smoke
free measures, and should be included as an active partner in the process of developing,
implementing and enforcing legislation.
Principle 6
11. The implementation of smoke free legislation, its enforcement and its impact should all be
monitored and evaluated. This should include monitoring and responding to tobacco instry
activities that undermine the implementation and enforcement of the legislation, as specified in
Article 20.4 of the WHO Framework Convention.
Principle 7
12. The protection of people from exposure to tobacco smoke should be strengthened and
expanded, if necessary; such action may include new or amended legislation, improved
enforcement and other measures to reflect new scientific evidence and case-study experiences.

H. 关于吸烟的雅思作文有哪些

Advertisements of tobacco and those of “smoking is harmful”are often seen
together. But there has been an on-going argument about whether or not
tobacco should be forbidden and made illegal. I have always believed that
smoking should be illegal for the following reasons.
First, smoking does great harm to human health and causes many diseases.
It is reported that more than 70% of lung cancer sufferers are smokers, and
the average life-span of smokers is seven years less than that of non-
smokers. Moreover, it hurts not only smokers, but also the ones around the
smokers. Many researchers claim that breathing “second-hand smoke” may
be even more harmful than smoking.
Second, many social problems and disasters can be attributed to smoking.
For instance, many wives cannot bear their husbands’ smoking all the time,
which causes many quarrels, or even divorces. Furthermore, the biggest fire
disaster in China, the Daxinganling fire disaster, was caused by a burning
cigarette end, and the cost of the resulting loss was unimaginable.
Last, smoking tobaccos is a main source of air pollution.A magazine said that
for every cigarette smoked each day,a whole tree is needed to clean the air.
In other words, smoking one less cigar every day equals planting a tree. It
is a brilliant contribution to the earth we are living on.
In a word, all the above demonstrate that smoking harms yourselves as well
as your neighbors, pollutes the air we ourselves are breathing, and even
agitates the social peace. So, in my opinion, tobacco should be strictly
forbidden, and smoking should be made illegal.
