一、單項選擇題命題趨勢
近幾年單項選擇測試由原來的語法型測試逐漸轉向以測試學生們的交際能力、語言應變能力、詞語運用能力等為主的能力型測試。根據本人對它的研究，其變化主要有： 1、單項選擇題加強了對情景交際的考查，注重日常交際用語的表達。2、單項選擇題一般常從詞彙、語法、固定片語，特定句式等方面進行考查。3、一些題型加強了與相關學科的聯系，具有濃郁的時代特色，加強了綜合能力和創造能力的考查。4、要求加強對學生解題技巧的訓練，有助於增強單選題的正確率。
二、 解題方法與技巧
1、直接判定法
直接判定法：直接判定法是運用所學的相關知識、結合題目所提供的信息，從備選答案中直接選出答案。 例：Jim is _________ school. His father is __________ work.. A. on, at B. at , at C. at, on D. in, on 點撥：此題可採用直接判定法來解題。 at school, at work 都是固定搭配， 意思分別為「上學」和「上班」。故選B。
2、逐個篩選法
逐個篩選法：有些題較復雜，不能一眼看出答案，這是最有效的方法便是層層篩選，逐步縮小包圍圈，排除所有干擾項後，剩下的一個即為正確答案。 例：The teacher wanted to have a word with Tom, but she had _________ to tell him. A. important something B. nothing important D. anything important D. something important 點撥： 本題考查不定代詞的用法。形容詞作定語修飾不定代詞時，形容詞須後置，作後置定語。首先用排除法將選項A排除。餘下B、C、D再看三個不定代詞nothing, anything, something 分別表示「沒有什麼」，「任何東西」，「某事」。根據句意答案應為B。
3、分析比較法
分析比較法：根據所掌握的各種語法知識，聯系語境進行分析比較，最後選定正確答案。此方法尤其適用於涉及時態、語態、非謂語動詞形式或同義詞辨析之類的試題，先對備選項仔細分析，我們常常可把四個選項分為兩類，排除一類後，再把剩下的兩個選項加以比較，最後二者擇其一。 例：We』ll go for a picnic if it _________ this Sunday. A. won』t rain B. isn』t going to rain C. don』t rain D. doesn』t rain 點撥：本題可用分析比較法來解。四個選項分為一般將來時A、B兩項和一般現在時C、D兩項。因主句為一般將來時，if引導的條件狀語從句要用一般現在時代替一般將來時，故先排除A、B兩項；又因為從句中的主語it是第三人稱單數，故應選D。
4、前後照應法
前後照應法：答題前首先弄清楚題乾的真正意思，然後去聯繫上下文，捕捉暗示的信息，判定正確答案。 例：My brother is a __________ boy. He always does little work the whole day. A. busy B. good C. nice D. lazy 點撥：本題須用前後照應法來解。如果只看一句，則A、B、C、D四個選項皆棵。但由後一句「他總是整天無所事事」可知，他是一個懶惰的男孩子。故只有D才符合句意。
5、聯想回憶法
聯想回憶法：當面隊四個備選項無所適從時，可以展開聯想，回憶學過的課本、練習、閱讀材料或老師課堂上所講的內容是否與該考題有相似之處，憑借自己的語感去理解，體會一下原題，最後確定答案。 例：I like writing to my friends. It_________ a lot of time. A. uses B. takes C. spends D. has 點撥：本題可用聯想回憶法來解。Spend 和take 都可作「花費」講，因此單憑意思選擇很難確定，但只要回憶起It作主語時的句式It takes sb. some time to do sth. 便可豁然開朗了，應選B。
6、常識運用法
常識運用法：根據平時我們掌握的政治、歷史、地理、天文、數理化、生活、風俗等方面的知識，去推理判斷，從而得去答案的方法。 例People usually eat mooncakes on ______________. A. Teachers』 Day B. their birthdays C. May Day D. Mid-Autumn Day 點撥：本題考查我們的生活常識。人們通常在中秋節才吃月餅。故選項D符合句意。
三、解題注意事項
1、注意不要「觸景生情」
同學們對某些固定搭配或習慣表達往往掌握得比較牢固，但也正是由於受這些習慣表達的影響，很多學生在解題時不免會「觸景生情」，從而忽略了其真正的表達。 例：What are you going to at the meeting? A.speak B.say C.talk D.tell 解析：B 本句意為「你在會上講什麼？」speak at the meeting 意思是「在會上發言」，是常見的固定表達，然而正確答案應為B，不是A。speak用作及物動詞時，意為「講（某種語言）」，如：to speak English,to speak several languages等。Speak用作「講」「發言」之意時，屬不及物動詞。本句中what是用作賓語，所以正確答案應選B。
2、注意題目中所隱含的條件
有些選擇題的選項極具隱蔽性和迷惑性，這是命題者故意設置的障礙，把一些條件隱含其中，這樣更能考查同學們理解問題、分析問題的能力，但稍不注意景容易發生理解偏差，以致誤選。 例：—Cathy is reading an English magazine now,isn』t she? — .She』s busy cleaning the house. A.No,she is B.Yes,she isn』t C.yes,she is D.No,she isn』t 解析：D 此題考查對反意疑問句的回答。從答句隱含的意思中，可以看出Cathy 不在看英文雜志，而是在打掃房屋，故應選D。
3、注意不要「魚目混珠」
有的詞可以兼做幾種詞性，所表達的詞義也有好幾個，做題時，應注意辨別，要具體情況具體分析。 例：He made faces the baby crying. A.to make;stop B.make;stop C.make;to stop D.to make;to stop 解析：A 題中的兩個make用法不同。Make faces意為「做鬼、臉」，其後接不定式作目的狀語；後者make意為「使得」，其後接動詞原形作賓語補足語。所以正確答案應為A。
4、注意「首尾相顧」
由於解題時毛手毛腳，所以有很多同學常會犯「顧頭不顧尾」的錯誤。 例：We each other since he came here three years ago. A. knew B.have known C.began to know D.know 解析：B three years ago 是一個表示過去的時間狀語，所以粗心的同學會選A，但該狀語是修飾從句的，由since引導的時間狀語從句可知正確答案為B。
5、知其一，更應知其二
對於某些知識，由於缺乏深層的了解，所以在解題時，極易出現錯誤。 例：I hope my son give you any trouble. A.won』t B.not to C.don』t D.not 解析：A hope的常見結構有：「hope＋動詞不定式」，「 hope＋賓語從句」，但hope後不能接復合賓語，即沒有hope sb do something 結構。所以本題正確答案為A。

13題選C,因為抄look相當於一個系動詞，後襲跟形容詞做表語，sell是動詞，後用副詞來修飾；
14題選D，因為quite 相當於very,而且book是一個可數名詞，其前要用上不定冠詞a;
15題選D，這里考查的是短語：order sb to do sth 命令某人做某事。
