在將近7點時，一名男子走進了在酒吧，要了一杯酒後就去看電視了。
7點的新聞開始了。它在講一名站在樓頂的男子。他在朝樓下嘈雜的人群看去。
在地面上，一名警察拿著喇叭，試圖勸說那位男子不要跳。
「讓我們談談你的問題吧」，警察說道，「或許我們可以幫助你。」
酒吧中的那位男子轉過身對這酒保說：「我用100美元與你打賭，他沒有跳。」
酒保看著他，說：「如果他跳了你就要支付我100美元，是嗎？」
「是的，我認為他不會跳。」
酒保笑了笑，說「好吧。我和你賭。」

「我能那你的錢，」他說，「我知道我不會輸。這個新聞在6點新聞0的時候就播出了。我看見他跳了的。」
「是的，我也看了，」男子說，「但是我認為他不會第二次干這么愚蠢的事情。」
