你們知道上周星期六是什麼日子嗎？對大多數人來說，這一天是一個平平常常的星期六。而對殘疾人來說，這一天是一個特殊的日子，因為這天是第十四個國際殘疾人日。由於殘疾人自身功能障礙，社會上還有一部分人對殘疾人歧視、偏見，使他們在工作、學習和生活中遇到許多困難，或受到侵害，使他們成為一個特殊困難的群體，更是一個需要關心和幫助的弱勢群體。目前，全國3000萬貧困人口中，殘疾人佔到三分之一以上，也就是說還有1000萬左右貧困殘疾人的基本生活尚得不到保障；多數殘疾人尚未得到基本的康復服務；殘疾兒童特別是盲、聾啞、弱智兒童入學率遠低於健全兒童少年，據有關部門統計，截至2002年，全國特殊教育學校達到1624所，普通學校附設特教班3322個，在校生近57萬。但全國尚有數十萬殘疾兒童因貧困失學或輟學。因此，關心殘疾人的困難，是我們每一個人義不容辭的責任，也是創建和諧社會的需要。同學們，很多事情在我們看來是舉手之勞，對他們來說卻是一種奢望。給殘疾人一個攙扶只需你付出一隻手的力量，給他們一個公交車上的座位只需你付出多站一會兒的辛苦，愛護他們的專用設施只需你付出繞一點彎路的時間。關愛殘疾人是全社會的責任，讓我們從今天做起，從身邊做起，從小事做起，從一點一滴做起，不只是在今天，而是在每一天。讓我們每一個人都獻出愛心，弘揚中華民族尊老愛幼、扶殘助殘的傳統美德，給殘疾人更多關愛和幫助吧！

但自古以來，有許許多多殘疾人自學成才，自強不息，他們身殘志不殘，如戰國時期的孫臏下肢殘疾，卻寫下了著名的《孫子兵法》；酷愛音樂的阿炳雖然是一個雙目失明的盲人，但譜寫出許多名曲，《二泉映月》就是其代表作品；張海迪是當代身殘志不殘的典範，她坐在輪椅上寫下許多著名作品，現在是全國政協委員。所以，同學們，在我們關愛殘疾人的同時，我們也要學習殘疾人身殘志不殘的好品質！
