教育家葉聖陶先生說過:「教是為了不教」。本義是指應以培養學生的自我教育能力為最大的目標,我們可以從另外一個意義上理解「學是為了不學」。英語是一門實踐性很強的學科,交際是語言最基本的功能。而閱讀是語言交際中最重要的一個方面,閱讀不僅能幫助學生獲取興趣,開闊視野,吸取豐富的語言知識,還能擴大詞彙量,促進聽、說、寫的能力發展。因此,有必要對有助於小學生英語閱讀能力發展的學習策略進行指導,為今後更好的閱讀打下扎實的基礎。 一、組織閱讀活動的策略 (一)閱讀前——朗讀拓展促閱讀 很多研究表明,如果語篇涉及讀者熟悉的主題,他們就能順利理解文章中的信息,相反,如果不熟悉語篇主題,就會出現障礙。因此,應在學生閱讀前,運用學生已有的知識結構,為學生創造足夠多的機會朗讀語篇的相關內容,使學生對即將要閱讀的內容有一定的了解,為獲得更好的閱讀效果作鋪墊。 (二)閱讀中——閱讀過程技巧與方法的調控 在教學過程中,無論是知識的獲得,還是智力的開發和能力的發展;無論是情感、意志的培養,還是思想品德的提高,都必須通過學生的自主學習和不斷探究。教師無法代替學生讀書,也無法代替學生分析思考,教師既不能把知識生硬地灌輸到學生的頭腦里,也不能把思想觀點移植到學生的頭腦中。因此,我覺得在閱讀過程中培養學生自主閱讀、思考的方式,引導學生逐步掌握閱讀技巧和方法是非常重要的。 1. 保證學生足夠的自主探究時間 蘇霍姆林斯基說:「教室里寂靜,學生集中思索,要珍惜這樣的時刻。」在實際課堂中,我發現很多教師在提問後就馬上叫學生回答,不給學生時間去思考。如回答不出,教師或是不斷重復問題,或是忙著啟發(很多情況下是暗示)。試想,在這么短的時間內,學生的思考能有一定深度嗎?學生能獲得多少「頓悟」和思維的閃光呢?可學生為了迎合老師的心理,匆忙尋找只言片語作答,表面上氣氛活躍,實際上是走進了繁瑣而膚淺的一問一答的圈子中去了。為了改變這種狀況,教師應在提問後給學生一些獨立思考的時間,讓他們潛心讀書,深入思考,當學生回答過程中遇到困難時,教師要以期待的目光鼓勵學生積極思考。這個等待的時間雖短,卻正是學生思維最為緊張活躍的時刻。 2. 培養學生提問的能力 在現實教學中我們可以發現,我們的學生對教師的提問可以對答如流,但是學生用英語提問的能力卻與之相距甚遠。培養學生提問的能力有助於學生養成按意群閱讀的良好習慣,提高閱讀的速度及效率。在教學中,我給學生機會進行提問,其目的就是在教學中逐步培養學生提問的能力。 3. 逐步滲透難點詞、短語 在閱讀教學中,將影響學生閱讀的難點詞、短語逐個地滲透到各個環節中,讓學生在更加簡短的語篇的閱讀過程中、在圖片看說過程中、在其運用過程中將這些詞和短語理解並掌握,而不是像對話課教學一樣,刻意地將它們逐個進行教學。 4. 感知——理解——運用 英語閱讀是非常復雜的心理認知活動,是讀者通過感知書面語言材料,進而對其進行編碼重組、解析破譯,再現作者提供的完整信息的過程。感知是讀者對書面材料的識別和辨認,其意義在於獲得基本信息,為對語言材料的編碼重組進行硬體上的准備,這是閱讀中的信息交換過程。理解則需要讀者運用已有的知識和經驗,對所感知的書面語言材料的基本信息進行編碼,然後重組,解析破譯出作者所表達的思想,全面准確地把握閱讀材料的信息,這是一個復雜的信息處理過程,也是讀者得以順利有效地進行閱讀的關鍵環節。 5. 整體理解 在閱讀過程中,遇到生詞、難句是在所難免的。如果碰到生詞、難句就追根刨底,孤立地思考,甚至還想把它譯成漢語才能罷休,其結果不但影響了閱讀速度,也不利於養成良好的閱讀習慣。因此,應養成從文章的篇章結構入手,越過少量生詞、難句所造成的閱讀障礙,領會文章的主體思想,理清文章的脈絡層次,然後從整體上對詞句進行推敲,攻克難關,最後又回到對全文進行歸納總結的良好閱讀習慣上。使閱讀從感性認識進一步升華形成理性認識,從而加快閱讀文章的速度,提高對文章理解的正確性。 (三)閱讀後——語篇的有效延伸 小學生閱讀能力的提高雖然主要依靠課內閱讀,但不能僅僅滿足於此。課內閱讀是基礎,課外延伸是補充。實踐經驗證明,課外閱讀不但能促進學生英語閱讀理解能力的提高,還能有效促進學生英語綜合技能的發展。 1. 選擇課堂教學的拓展語篇 選擇一些與課堂上教學內容相關的拓展語篇,既可以幫助學生鞏固課堂的學習,又可以鍛煉學生的閱讀能力。2 .選擇生活化的拓展語篇 許多調查表明,語篇內容的生活化可以使學生更易理解,有助於學生更好的閱讀,並習得一些生活、學習的經驗。3. 帶著任務閱讀 許多實踐證明,無論是課內還是課外,讓學生帶著任務去閱讀的有效性是毋庸置疑的。因此,給學生課外拓展語篇的同時應給予一定的任務,如:(1)給語篇取個小標題。(2)回答與語篇相關的幾個問題。(3)聯繫上下文猜幾個生詞的詞義。(4)判斷與語篇相關的句子。 4. 閱讀結果的反饋 及時有效的反饋語篇閱讀的結果能促進學生更好的閱讀,提高課外閱讀的效率。但在實際教學中,由於課堂時間有限,很難做到面面俱到。因此可將班級分成若干個閱讀小組,並委任一些閱讀組長,讓課外閱讀的結果在小組里進行反饋,讓每位學生在小組里分享彼此的信息與感受。這樣,既能讓學生對課外閱讀有所堅持,又能在課外閱讀中有所得,分享樂趣。 總之,正確的閱讀教學方法有利於學生提高閱讀技能,高效的閱讀能力需要培養和訓練,教師只有通過研究學生的認知特點和閱讀策略,才能制定切實可行的閱讀教學方法,實施有效的英語閱讀教學策略,為學生的終身發展奠定基礎。
