There was a guy who went into a shop to buy a parrot.
有個人到一間商店買鸚鵡。
There werethree parrots in the shop. One was $5,000; another one, $10,000; and the third one, $30,000.
店裡有三隻鸚鵡，其中一隻賣五千元，另一隻賣一萬元，還有一隻賣三萬元。
The customer asked the owner, 「How come this guy is $5,000? That‟s so expensive for this kindof parrot.」
顧客問老闆：「為什麼這只要賣五千元？這個價錢對這種鸚鵡來說太貴了！」
The owner said, 「Because I have trained him and he can talk.」
老闆說：「因為我有訓練他講話。」
So the customer asked him, 「How about this guy? What can he do that makes him so expensive?」
顧客又問：「那這只呢？他會做什麼？為什麼要賣這么貴？」
The owner said, 「Well, apart from talking, he can also do some amusing actions,like dancing and so on. That‟s why he‟s so expensive.」
老闆說：「他除了會說話之外，還會表演一些有趣的動作，好比說跳舞等等，所以才賣這么貴。」
Then the customer said, 「How about the third one? What canhe do that makes him so expensive?」
顧客接著又問：「那第三隻呢？他會做什麼？為什麼要賣這么貴？」
The owner of the shopsaid, 「I don‟t know. Normally, I have never heard him talk, nor dance, nor whistle, nor sing, nothing at all!
老闆說：「我不知道。我從沒聽過他講話、吹口哨或唱歌，也沒看過他跳舞，什麼都沒有！
But the other two call him „The Boss.‟」
不過另外兩只叫他：『老闆！』」

Child:My uncle has 1000 men under him.

Man:He is really somebody.What does do?

Child:A maintenance man in a cemetery.

3、A little kid fell in love with another little kid, a school mate.

5、Tom is a little boy, and he is only seven years old.
湯姆是個小孩， 他才7歲。
Once he goes to a cinema. It is the first time for him to do that.
當他去電影院的時候。那時他第一次去。
He buys a ticket and goes in.
他買了張票進去了。
But after two or three minutes he comes out, and buys the second ticket and goes in again.

還有China Daily.適合泛讀.不過我感覺那上面的文章太乾燥,而且內文章很多是容中國人寫的,顯的很不地道.
視聽英語 這本書也還不錯

新東方英語雜志 這本書很好 油膜紙,適合保存 內容很人文,很有底蘊,也比較貼近時尚.時尚而不趣味低俗.
英語沙龍 及系列刊物 也很好.可能文章難了些.部分詞彙比較生僻.但文章很地道
包含 英語沙龍閱讀版\實戰版,英語文摘 英語心境
報紙中強烈推薦21st Century .看它的名稱就知道多麼有時代性

Can Science ultimately explain the origin of the universe?My answer is a definitely yes.And here are three main reasons why I am so confident of it.
First of all,science has been proven to be the most effective way for us to explore,understand and explain many whys in the world surrounds us so far.With the aid of the science,we have understood that the Earth,instead of being the center of universe,turns out to be one of several planets that circle around the Sun.with the wisdom of the science,we find out that the DNA is the basic element of life,not the hands of God.Through science,we,as human being,have set our feet on the moon,and set our eyes to the Mars.In short,Science is leading us on the right path to find out the origin of the universe.
Secondly,the human history has also proved that there is no any other way but science that can be so powerful to help us to understand the world and the universe.Religion is the one by far the closest competitor to science when it comes to this topic.However,as a fact,religion can only add more confusion and mystery to our effort to understand the universe.We are unfortunately barking to the wrong tree if religion is the choice of finding the origin of the universe.
Thirdly,it may take some time before science can reveal the final answer.And the beauty of this process is that a scientific attitude to pursue the right answer is to allow the time needed naturally rather than rushing on it.Just like an old Chinese proverb says,Nature is never in a hurry,but everything is accomplished.
In short,science is the a proven tool for us to get the right answer of the origin of the universe,and all the other methods,including religion,can only lead us to the opposite direction.In the end,with the patience and continuous efforts,it is no doubt that science will unveil the answer of this big question naturally.
