Long, long ago, a farmer thought the shoots in his fields were not growing fast enough. He wanted to help them. So he pulled every shoot up, then went home, feeling very tired but very satisfied. "Look, how great I an! I can think out such a good idea. From now on, my shoots will grow faster and faster," he thought. "I an very tired today," he said to his family, "I've been helping the young shoots to grow." When his son heard this, he ran out to the fields to have a look. The Rabbit And The Turtle
One day the Hare laughed at the short feet and slow speed of the Tortoise. The Tortoise replied:
"You may be as fast as the wind, but I will beat you in a race!"
The Hare thought this idea was impossible and he agreed to the proposal. It was agreed that the Fox should choose the course and decide the end.
The day for the race came, and the Tortoise and Hare started together.
The Tortoise never stopped for a moment, walking slowly but steadily, right to the end of the course. The Hare ran fast and stopped to lie down for a rest. But he fell fast asleep. Eventually, he woke up and ran as fast as he could. 守株待兔
In the Spring and Autumn Period, a farmer in the State of Song was one day working in the fields when he saw a rabbit bump into a tree stump(樹樁) accidentally and break its neck. The farmer took the rabbit home, and cooked himself a delicious meal. That night he thought, 'I needn't work so hard. All I have to do is wait for a rabbit each day by the stump.' So from then on he gave up farming, and simply sat by the stump waiting for rabbits to come and run into it.
This idiom satirizes(諷刺，挖苦) those who just wait for a stroke of luck, rather than making efforts to obtain what they need.

The fox is very complacent because in fact it depends on the terror of the tiger to frighten the animals.

who are too eager to get something done only to make it worse. The idiom
is a bit like the English proverb "Haste makes waste" ------to spoil
things by excessive enthusiasm.

Rapunzel
upon a time, there lived an old couple in a village. The old couple prayed every day that they might have a baby. One day, an old woman moved into the house next door. The Old woman raised lettuce that looked very tasty and delicious.
The old wife wanted to eat the lettuce from next door, and she constantly pestered her husband to let her eat that mouth-watering lettuce. "Dear, I want to have that lettuce." Without knowing what else to do, the husband crept next door and stole the old woman's lettuce.

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, please let down your golden hair." When Rapunzel dropped down her long hair, the witch would climb up in order to prevent Rapunzel from meeting other people.
One day, a Prince happened to pass by the tower. The Prince lost his heart to the beautiful singing voice of Rapunzel. "How can I climb up to the tower?" The Prince decided to wait under the tower until he saw an opportunity.
On the next day, the Prince saw that the witch climbed up to the tower on the lovely yellow hair of Rapunzel. After the witch left the tower, the Prince imitated the witch. He said, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, please let down your golden hair." Then the long hair was dropped from the inside of the tower.
Upon seeing Rapunzel, the Prince fell instantly in love with her. He said, "You are the most beautiful lady in the world." Rapunzel also lost her heart to the handsome prince. The two lovers met each other every night, hiding from the eyes of the witch.
However one day, the witch found out about these secret meetings, cut off the hair of Rapunzel, and sent her to a desert. Then the witch dropped down the cut hair to the Prince, as he came to see Rapunzel. When the Prince climbed up the tower, holding the cut hair, the witch cast off the ladder sending the Prince crashing to the ground. m.niuyingyu.cn
He fell heavily on the earth at the base of the tower and became blind. The Prince gained strength by wandering around the land in order to find Rapunzel, and finally met her in the heart of the desert. Rapunzel recognized the Prince at once. Upon realizing that the Prince had become blind, Rapunzel's eyes filled with tears, which trickled down into the eyes of the Prince.
At that moment, the Prince gained his eyesight again with the power of love. Then the two people returned to the royal palace and lived happily ever after.

一、引言閱讀在聽、說、讀、寫四項技能中佔有重要地位。2001年頒布的英語課程標准對小學英語教學的閱讀目標也提出了明確的要求。但是，在當前的小學英語教學中，側重聽與說的訓練而忽視閱讀教學的現象普遍存在。實際上，小學生從學英語的第一天起就開始了他們的英語閱讀經歷。如果在此階段適當地開展閱讀教學，對鞏固學生已學的單詞和句型，增強其語感，以及激發其學習英語的興趣都具有重要意義。那麼，如何在小學階段開展閱讀教學呢?筆者認為，分享閱讀是一種適合小學低年級開展英語閱讀教學的有效方法。分享閱讀法(shared reading)是教師(或家長)與學生一起利用學生喜愛的故事書，通過互動式閱讀活動，分享閱讀快樂的閱瀆教學方法。為了使所有參與分享閱讀的學生都能看到並喜歡故事書中的文字和插圖，故事書的尺寸設計得較大，所以分享閱讀又被稱為「大書閱讀」。分享閱讀已成為國外兒童開展早期閱讀活動的主要方式。二、分享閱讀的意義1．從「聽故事、講故事」過渡到「讀故事」故事教學在小學英語教學中越來越受到教師和學生的喜愛。但是，目前故事教學大多局限於培養學生的聽說能力，用於對學生進行閱讀訓練的則很少。分享閱讀強調在閱讀活動中，當教師為學生大聲朗讀故事時，所有參與閱讀的學生都能看見故事書中的文字與插圖。分享閱讀教學的目的之一就是培養學生的文字意識，幫助學生熟悉所學語言的結構，不斷提高學生的識詞技能。這種教學方式旨在通過訓練，讓學生從被動地聽別人講故事，到逐步地參與到閱讀中，最終逐步過渡到自己主動讀故事。2．體會閱讀的樂趣閱讀首先是「為了得到樂趣，為了獲取信息」興趣的培養對小學生學好英語尤為重要。如果讓學生閱讀一些與其年齡特徵不相符或學生不感興趣的材料，不僅會加重學生學習的負擔和壓力，還會使他們產生厭學情緒。因此，用於閱讀教學的材料必須符合小學生的心理特點，並且應是小學生感興趣的內容。用於分享閱讀的材料一般都是配圖故事書。在這些故事書中，每一段文字都有與之相對應的圖畫，以充分體現該段文字的內容。而且這些圖畫的顏色五彩繽紛，內容誇張而有趣，人物生動又可愛，加之圖畫豐富的背景內容，易於激發小學生極大的閱讀興趣。3．有助於學生學會閱讀小學生的詞彙量少，知識面較窄，語法知識欠缺，閱讀故事時會有一定的困難。因此，要開展閱讀教學，重要的是讓學生學會閱讀。所謂學會閱讀就是掌握閱讀的技能和養成閱讀的習慣。在閱讀教學之初，教師可以邊用手指著書中的單詞，邊為學生朗讀，引導學生注意每一個單詞的詞形，並讀出單詞。這樣，學生就可以在聽故事的過程中，嘗試把自己聽到的音和看到的形式一對應起來，從而意識到每一個詞形都有一個獨特的發音，詞形和詞音之間存在匹配關系。同時，教師讀到適當的地方停下來，引導學生通過書中插圖來猜測單詞的詞義，訓練學生的閱讀策略。4．培養思維能力在閱讀故事之前，教師可以鼓勵學生通過觀察故事書的封面想像和猜測故事可能會講述什麼內容。在閱讀中，教師可以在適當的地方停頓一下，設置開放性的問題讓學生猜測故事情節的發展，培養其想像力。5．發展其它語言技能分享閱讀中的閱讀大多是朗讀。例如，教師為學生朗讀故事，教師與學生一起朗讀故事，以及學生自己朗讀故事等。大量的朗讀能夠促進學生聽力和口語能力的提高。此外，教師可以就故事內容進行提問，引導學生猜測故事情節，使學生在回答問題中發展其聽、說能力。閱讀之後，為了增強閱讀的效果，教師可以設計一些諸如改變故事結局、改寫故事、畫圖並寫話等活動，訓練學生的寫作能力。三、如何開展分享閱讀教學1．選擇閱讀的故事對閱讀材料的選擇是非常關鍵的，一定要遵循趣味性、適宜性和匹配性的原則(胡澄宜，2005)。最好是選擇～些原版故事，因為其語言地道，插圖精美，但是原版書一般都較昂貴，而且很難與現行教材的內容相匹配。因此，我們鼓勵教師根據教材內容自編故事，並通過PowerPoint呈現，效果也很好。2．分享閱讀的教學實踐3．課後活動的延伸學生閱讀了3-4個故事後，教師可以讓學生再次反復閱讀其中一個故事，留意之前沒有注意到的學習內容，從而幫助學生擴大詞彙量，加深其對故事的理解。在開展課後活動之前，教師要有意識地講解閱讀技巧，以提高學生的閱讀能力。更多關於學習英語閱讀的方法有效的閱讀是學好英語的關鍵大學英語四級快速閱讀技巧研究初中生英語閱讀能力的培養
