When I'm free or in trouble, I always take out a book and read quietly. In no time, I've put my heart into it so that I'll forget all the troubles. It's in this way that I've formed the habit of reading in any time.

Little boys as I was, I was interest in picture books and storybooks. I was struck by them. No sooner had I entered the middle school than I began to read novel, plays, essays and so on. I found I could get much from them. Little by little I took great interest in literature and last term I won the first prize in the composition contest among middle-school students in Zhe Jiang.

1.首段引人：

盡自己最大的可能使得第一自然段引人入勝，做到「語不驚人誓不休」。要想做到這一點，就要求學生要大量地閱讀課外書籍，包括中文和英文，做到知識面寬泛，觀點靈活，寫技高超。

2.片語句型：

在英語作文中，片語和句型的運用可幫助呈現寫作者的英語水平。這就要求學生要在基礎知識方面進行系統的學習。現舉例說明：

prefer doing>enjoy doing>like doing 由此可以看出，不同類型和不同水平的片語句型可表現出寫作者不同的觀點及英語水平。

3.復合句:

在英語寫作中,對於主從復合句的運用也是必不可少的。小學英語作文中可以沒有主從復合句，但從初中開始，必須在寫作中運用主從復合句（至少1——2個）。因為，只有主從復合句才能表達更為復雜的觀點；只有主從復合句才能是閱卷者看出寫作者真實的英語水平高度。

4.轉聯詞:

所謂的轉聯詞是指那些用於承上啟下的副詞，連詞以及大量的介詞片語等。英語作文中轉聯詞的必要使用，可以使得句子與句子之間更加流暢，避免了各個句子的分割獨立，使得文章順理成章，一氣呵成。中國學生在學習中，掌握了大量的此類單詞和片語，但除了but,because,等，很少主動使用，使得所寫文章頗顯乾巴和唐突。

5.時態：

毋庸置疑，時態是英語基礎知識的重要范疇之一，也是區別於漢語的重要特點之一。而英語作文又是對學生綜合能力的考核。因而，在作文中，必須加入時態的准確運用，才能使自己的觀點和所敘述的情節更加精準。因為中文中沒有時態的概念，中國學生極易在英語時態方面出現失誤或忽略事態的運用，這將是所寫的英語作文大打折扣。

6.漢譯英：

閱讀不用一個個查生詞，重在理解。我之前看過一門課程，叫做《大學英語學術閱讀》（中國外語高校慕課平台上可以搜到），裡面講了很多閱讀方法，首要的幾點摘錄如下：
1. The Top-down Approach
在閱讀前可以做預測，可以有選擇性地閱讀你最感興趣的部分，並且能用自己的話說出文章在講什麼。
2. The Integrated Approach
通過文本之外的東西幫助理解，比如the expectations、the text、the author、the source、the publisher、the time of publication等等。
3. Reading with a Purpose
閱讀之前，你要先知道What are you reading for ?
如果是for specific information，比如讀新聞，那你就要scanning，找出需要的信息。
如果是for thorough understanding and memorization，比如莎士比亞的戲劇，那就要intensive reading。
