The ability to feel empathy is built into the human brain. We smile or laugh almost instantly in response to others. Until now this ability was thought to extend only to our closest animal relatives such as orangutans and chimps.

Now researchers at the University of Pisa say dogs may be able to tune into the emotions of their canine companions. After studying hours of videotapes of dogs playing in a park, they said the animals can mimic each other's facial expressions and movements in a split-second, building social bonds.

The Italian scientist believe dogs may be showing a basic form of empathy which could have evolved when their ancestors became domesticated.

Ⅳ 做英語閱讀理解有哪些技巧

做英語閱讀理解的技巧有：

1、若針對舉例子、人物言論出題，需要查找例子以及人物所說的句子前後的內容，然後與各選項逐一核對。

2、在出現一些關鍵詞,如however，but，moreover, therefore，thus時，要特別注意句子前後意義的轉折、遞進、因果等關系。

3、細節理解題的答案一般是同義替換項或者同義轉換。

4、選項中有絕對語氣詞的一般不是答案。如: must,never, the most, all, merely, only, have to, any, no，completely，none, 等。但不是絕對，也有例外。

5、注意選項中的副詞、形容詞和介詞短語等與原文是否一致。如:must, may, often，should, usually,might, most，more or less，likely，all, never, few等存在程度不同，經常被偷換,往往被忽視。

6、注意干擾項特點：與原文內容相反；與原文內容一半相符，一半不同;敘述過於絕對化；原文沒有提及。

閱讀積累要提高閱讀水平，詞彙量與短語量非常重要。所以要提高閱讀水平，我們就得學會積累詞語。我們不妨這么做：在通讀全文後看第二遍，遇到生詞盡可能根據上下文來猜，仍猜不出意思的，就查詞典，然後將這些詞抄寫在一本可隨身攜帶的小本子上。

每當有空時，就拿出這個小本子來背誦記憶。這樣做不但不費時，而且效果也很好。因為不時地接觸、反復地記憶，詞彙量會增加得很快。

任何語言的習得和學習都離不開大量閱讀的實踐.許多教師也意識到高中閱讀對於學生綜合語言能力培養的重要性,用盡各種辦法來培養學生的閱讀微技能.當然這樣做的目的確實也提高了學生測試性閱讀的能力.如閱讀前講解重點生詞或片語,閱讀中找main idea, 設計不同程度的問題幫助不同層次學生理解閱讀,呈現表格,運用復述,角色扮演,采訪等不同形式來開展閱讀任務.以上雖均衡了話題及功能兩方面,但這些方法仍只停留在字,詞,句及其他細節的表層理解上.要想真正讓學生內化閱讀材料,除了表層的理解外,閱讀也要關注語言文字背後的深層理解和文化內涵.這點我們可以從語文學習上得到啟示.《英語新課程標准》就閱讀的知識性和欣賞性上提出了指導思想：語言有豐富的文化內涵.英語學習就是要關注說英語國家的歷史地理、風土人情、傳統習俗、生活方式、文學藝術、行為規范、價值觀念等,從而加深對世界文化的理解.因此,筆者認為高中英語閱讀課除了訓練測試性閱讀之外,需要大量的欣賞性閱讀材料來補充教學.教師應該沖破詞彙,語法的束縛,在閱讀中突出技能滲透的同時,應將課文閱讀教學提高到欣賞性閱讀的美學高度,真正培養他們的英語學習興趣.
二、教學內容分析
教學內容為高一NSEFC Book 1 Unit 4的reading task.作為地震內容的閱讀補充材料,它是著名作家Jack London的筆下之作.以一個目擊者的身份,介紹了舊金山大地震的所見所聞所感.語言地道優美,描述性較強.重點是欣賞閱讀中訓練略讀和查讀兩大閱讀微技能,逐步加深對舊金山地震及細節理解,並對地震中發生的一切形成自己的觀點看法和情感態度,體會人們地震後表現出來的勇敢精神.本課難點是如何引導學生paraphrase 課文中的幾個句子如A list of the brave men and women would fill a library. A list of buildings undestroyed was now only a few addresses.
三、學生分析
教學對象為高一學生,他們的認知能力較初中學生有了一定的發展,有著更強的求知慾.不滿足單一的課本教材學習,具備對於興趣的話題會去網上搜索知識來獲得信息的能力.半個學期的英語教學已經讓他們意識到高中英語閱讀不同於初中的手把手閱讀,更多的是他們自主思考,對疑惑提出自己的觀點和見解.本次欣賞性閱讀材料是美國文學原著,他們也是第一次碰到,有些句子理解上比較難,注意給學生學法上的指導.另外為了幫助學生逐層進行理解課文,設計的問題一定要考慮到不同學生的認知識水平,注意因材施教.
