怎樣進行閱讀教學?
對於怎樣進行閱讀教學老師們都有自己的操作方式,特別是最近又舉行了全國小學英語閱讀教學研討會,很多專家也作了點評,想必一些老師已經對閱讀教學有了一些想法。下面我們就來接這個問題進行討論。
(一)閱讀教學的方式
根據前面討論的閱讀教學的目的,閱讀教學的方式應該是兩種,第一種方式把閱讀材料放在每一單元的前面,作為一個單元學習的開始,在閱讀材料中包含了本單元的新詞和新句,如北師大版的「先鋒」教材和外研版「新標准」教材,在單元後面所有的學習內容和學習活動是圍繞故事來開展的,我們可以稱這種方式為「基於閱讀的教學」;第二種方式是把閱讀材料放在一個單元的後面,作為復習鞏固提高的一種素材,或者叫做一種閱讀學習的材料,來給學生提供一個進一步鞏固和補充的機會,幫助學生內化新知識點,培養學生英語閱讀的興趣和初步的閱讀能力。比如人教版的教材。這兩種形式的閱讀教學在實際操作的時候是有些區別的。今天我們可能更多涉及的是第二種方式,將閱讀材料作為一種鞏固提高的素材。
(二)閱讀教學的准備工作
1. 分析教材(閱讀材料)
分析教材是進行閱讀教學的一件很重要的工作。目的是在教學中突出重點、突破難點,提高教學效率。分析教材的方面有:
(1)教材中對閱讀材料的要求是什麼?
(2)新詞和新句子有哪些?這些新詞句是否影響學生閱讀理解?
(3)通過閱讀材料的學習,比較適於學習或鞏固哪些語言知識,發展學生的哪方面技能等。
下面我們就PEP教材中閱讀板塊進行以下分析。
高年級閱讀板塊(Read and write, Let's read)是在每單元的A、B項的第五或第六個板塊,前面幾個板塊,如:Let's learn、Let's find out、Let's try、Let's talk.等的作用是學習新詞和新語句,練習新詞和新句。如果我們把這些稱作單項練習的話,Read and write板塊就是綜合練習,把在前面幾個板塊中學到的新詞和新語句,放在一個情景里,通過一小篇閱讀文章,再一次呈現給學生,再一次讓學生體會和感知新語言的使用場景,這一板塊起著復習鞏固的作用。這一作用正好是我們前面提到的閱讀教學的第二種方式,「把閱讀放在一個單元的後面,作為復習鞏固提高的一種素材,或者叫做一種閱讀學習的材料,來給學生提供一個進一步鞏固和補充的機會,幫助學生內化新知識點,培養學生英語閱讀的興趣和初步的閱讀能力。」也就是說我們在學習這一板塊的時候,是為了讓學生對本單元的新語言知識學得更牢固和扎實。
教材中閱讀板塊的特點是什麼呢?
(1)有情景。舉例,在B5U1 part B中,兩人正在談論學校的新老師,在B7U1 part A中,兩人在談論怎樣去公園。
(2)絕大部分的語言是學生學習過的。
(3)有一些新的語言,這些新的語言是場景對話時所必需要的,這些新語言不太影響學生的理解。
(4)都有相應的練習,幫助學生理解閱讀材料和發展相應的技能。如:B5U1 part B:Describe Jim's new math teacher. B7U1 part A:Answer the questions. 閱讀理解的練習已經設計好了,教師可以利用,也可以根據學生的需要在重新設計。
