A. 英语公开课如何上好寓言故事的短文阅读

各位领导、专家、同仁：
大家上午好！
上周，接到通知，让我在此次教研基地活动中做一个讲座，就“课外阅读”这个主题谈一点个人的看法。《世说新语》中有“战战栗栗，汗不敢出”之语，今天坐在台前，有这么多的专家、精英在，也深感惶恐。我的看法肯定算不上讲座，只就个人对于课外阅读的认识及自己的一些做法，向各位做个汇报，不当之处敬请批评指正。
我今天和大家交流的题目是《最是书香能致远——小学生课外阅读方法的指导》。作为语文人，我们都知道，“课外阅读”现在是一个热词，其实，它本身就应是一个热词，思想意识上可以说人人重视。但我们也应该看到，在加强学生课外阅读的工作上，我们在平时真的做了多少，做了多少有价值的，这还真的不好说。
一、 也谈课外阅读的重要性
前段时间，在朋友的微信中，看到了这样一个故事，题目是“孩
子数学成绩不好，要不要靠补课提高”，回答是——阅读才是最佳方法。
我是相信阅读的力量的，阅读能影响数学和其他的学科学习，那他对于学生语文素养的发展功力，还有什么可以怀疑的呢？

（一）给你阅读量的硬性规定：
第一学段：积累自己喜欢的成语和格言警句。背诵优秀诗文50篇(段)。课外阅读总量不少于5万字。
第二学段：养成读书看报的习惯，收藏并与同学交流图书资料。课外阅读总量不少于40万字。
第三个学段：扩展阅读面。课外阅读总量不少于100万字。
（二）再给你关于阅读的宽泛建议：让学生少做题，多读书，好读书，读好书，读整本的书。鼓励学生自主选择阅读材料。
读童话寓言、故事、诗歌、散文、长篇文学名著、当代文学作品、科普科幻的读物和政治历史文化各类读物。
新课标是纲，我们不能要求它细到面面俱到，因为它是大而不微的。也有众多名家见解，我们来看一下——

为了了解学生课外阅读情况，科学引领学生养成良好的读书习惯，开辟我校小学生课外阅读环境，我们曾对五、六年级小学生的课外阅读情况作了调查。

B. 谁能给我一则适合初一新生阅读的英语寓言

A man walking in the night slipped from a rock. Afraid that he would fall down thousands of feet, because he knew that place was a very deep valley, he took hold of a branch that was hanging over the rock. In the night all he couls see was a bottomless abyss. He shouted, his own shout reflected back--there was nobody to hear.
You can imagine that man and his whole night of scare. Every moment there was death, his hands were becoming cold, he was losing his grip...... and as the sun came out he looked down and he laughed. There was no abyss. Just six inches down there was a rock. He could have rested the whole night, slept well---the rock was big enough---but the whole night was a nightmare.
Fear is only six inches deep. Now it is up to you whether you want to go on cling to the branch and turn your life into a nightmare, or whether you would love to leave the branch and stand on your feet.
There is nothing to fear.
一个人在赶夜路时,突然从岩石上跌了下去,吓得他赶紧抓住了岩石上的树枝,因为他知道这一带有个深谷,一不小心就会跌入上千英尺的深渊。一晚上,他唯一能看到的就是深不见底的峡谷。他大呼救命,但只听到了自己的回音---没有人能听到他呼救。
你可以想象一下他的处境和整晚的恐惧。死神随时都可能降临。他的手开始发凉,渐渐地抓不住了...当太阳升起的时候,他朝下看了看,笑了。下面压根就没有什么深渊。在他下方六英尺的地方有一块大石头。岩石那么大,他本可以在那儿休息一个晚上,美美的睡上一觉,但昨晚他却在梦魇中度过。
恐惧只是六英尺的距离而已。接下来,到了你做决定的时候了:你是想要继续抓着树枝过梦魇一般的生活,还是更喜欢把手从树枝上松开,双脚着地?
真的没有什么好害怕的。

To Pull up the Seedlings to Help Them Grow

Once upon a time, an old farmer planted a plot of rice. Everyday he

went to the field to watch the seedlings grow. He saw the young shoots

break through the soil and grow taller each day. But still, he thought

they were growing too slowly. He got impatient with the young plants.

"How could the plants grow faster?" He tossed in bed ring the night and

could not sleep. Suddenly he hit upon an idea. He had an idea not wait

for daybreak. He jumped out of the bed and dashed to the field. By the

moonlight, he began working on the rice seedlings. One by one, he pulled

up the young plants by half an inch. When he finished pulling, it was

already morning. Straightening his back, he said to himself, "What a

wonderful idea! Look, how much taller the plants have grown one night!"

With great satisfaction, he went back home. He told his son what he had

done in a triumphant tone. His son was shocked. Now the sun had risen.

The young man was heart-broken to see all the pulled-up young plants

dying.

People now use " Ba Miao Zhu Zhang" to describe the behavior of those

who are too eager to get something done only to make it worse. The idiom

is a bit like the English proverb "Haste makes waste" ------to spoil

things by excessive enthusiasm.

拨苗助长

从前，有个农夫，种了稻苗后，便希望能早早收成。每天他到稻田时，发觉那些稻

苗长得非常慢。

他等得不耐烦，心想：“怎么样才能使稻苗长得高，长很快呢?

想了又想，他终了想到一个“最佳方法”，就是将稻苗拨高几分。

经过一番辛劳后，他满意地扛锄头回家休息。心想：明天稻苗长得一定更高了。

隔天早晨．一早起身，他迫不及待地起去稻田看他的“成果”。

哪知，他跑到稻田时，却看到所有的稻苗都枯萎了。

He thought, "How could this little mouse help me?" However he lifted up his paws and let him go.

A few days later, the lion was caught in a trap.

The hunters wanted to take him alive to the king, so they tied him to a tree, and went away to look for a wagon.

Just then the little mouse passed by, and saw the sad lion.

He went up to him, and soon gnawed away the ropes. "Was I not right?" asked the little mouse.

The bat, the birds,and the beasts

There was a big fight between the birds and the beasts. The bat did not join in the fight.

Some birds said to the bat, "Come with us." But he replied, "I am a beast."

Later on, some beasts said to him, "Come with us." But he replied, "I am a bird."

At last the fighting ended peacefully. The bat first went to the birds, and wanted to join in the celebration, but they all turned against him. He then went to the beasts, but was also driven away.

寓意: 两面三刀的人，最终不会有好的下场。

The lion in love

A lion once fell in love with a beautiful girl, so he went to her parents and asked them to marry her to him.

The old parents did not know what to say.

They did not like the idea of giving their daughter to the lion, but they did not want to enrage the king of beasts.

At last the father said, "We are glad to marry our daughter to you, but we fear that you might possibly hurt her. So if you remove your claws and teeth, we will give her to you."

The lion loved the girl very much, so he trimmed his claws and took out his big teeth. When he came to the parents again, they simply laughed in his face, and beat him out of their house.

●狮子非常爱这个女孩儿，于是他修剪了爪子，拔掉了尖牙后又去找女孩的父母。可是这时，他们嘲笑他，并把他赶了出去。

寓意: 有些人轻易相信别人的话，抛弃自己的长处，结果轻而易举地被原来害怕他们的人击败了。

A wolf had been badly wounded by dogs. He lay sick and maimed in his lair.

He felt very hungry and thirsty. When a sheep passed by, he asked him to fetch some water from the stream.

"If you bring me the water," he said, "I will find means to get some food."

"Yes," said the sheep, "if I bring you the water, you would undoubtedly make me your food."

The sick lion

A lion had come to the end of his days. He lay helpless under a tree.

The animals came around him. When they saw that he was going to die, they thought to themselves, "Now is the time to pay him back."

So the boar came up and rushed at him with his tusks.

Then a bull gored him with his horns. The lion still lay helpless before them.

So the ass felt quite safe. He turned his tail to the lion and kicked up his heels into his face.

"This is a double death." growled the lion.

"There's my supper," he thought. "I will find some excuse to catch it." Then he called out to the lamb, "How dare you muddle the water?" "No, master," said the lamb. "I cannot muddle your water because it runs down from you to me."

"Well, then," said the wolf. "Why did you call me bad names this time last year?" "It was impossible," said the lamb. "I am only six months old."

"I don't care," shouted the wolf. "If it was not you, it must be your father." After that he rushed at the poor little lamb and ate it up.
