找对人了。

我以前也经常看英语双语的书，在回答你的问题之前，我建议可以根据你买的书下一些对应的听力资料（如果你的书附带有光盘更好）

1，建议先自己通读英语，用铅笔把自己不会的词画出来，通读一遍之后，按照自己的想法先理解全文，就像在考试中一样，毕竟考试时是没有中文对照的，对吧？ 进行自己的理解之后，可以对照着看中文，但是请不要只满足于中文翻译中的解释，因为一般的英语单词都对应有至少3个英文词条，而且意思也不大相同，所以第二次阅读的时候，建议你根据自己用铅笔画出的单词先对应中文翻译，然后还可以查字典，争取完全攻克每个单词。这样也不枉你学习一片文章。按照这种方式通读一遍之后，估计你就完全理解文章大意了。第三遍，跟着听力反复的朗读，最好理解性背会，把文章变成你自己肚中的墨水。

2. 它可以在很大程度上扩充你的词汇量，因为一般这些课本之外的英语文章的词汇是没有4，6级的限制的，所以你就可以学到很多高级的词汇，还有很多地道的表达方式，希望你好好利用这些资源，取得长足的进步！

另外，个人建议： 看书只能扩充你的词汇量，但是远远不能满足听力和口语的提高， 推荐http://www.englishcentral.com/en/videos 这个国际英语学习网站，完全长期免费，
你可以在看过英语的新闻，电影，广告等视频之后，自己跟着说，会有软件对你评分，精确到音标，这是很难得的。还有在全国乃至全世界的范围内进行排名，这也是一种鼓励吧！
