二十年前，我开着出租车为生。我遇到了我的生活中许多人感到惊讶，高贵（使敬重）我，让我笑和哭。但是没有让我感动多一个女人，我是谁拿起一天深夜，当我接到一个在一个宁静的小城市建设的电话。
当我在早上2:30到达大楼一片漆黑，除了在一个地下窗口光。我走到门前，敲门。
“只要一分钟”，回答了弱和老人的声音。
过了一会儿，门开了。在她80年代的小女人站在我面前。她穿着这样的衣服和帽子，她看上去像有人在20世纪40年代的电影。
“你把我的包的车？”她说。我把她包的出租车，并返回到帮助她。她拉着我的胳膊，我们走对汽车缓慢。她不停地感谢我的好意我。
“这没什么，”我告诉她，“我只是尝试的方式对待我的乘客，我希望我的母亲对待。”
“哦，你这样的好孩子。”她说。
当我们上了车，她给了我一个地址，然后问：“请问你开车穿过市中心？”
“这不是最短的路，”我回答很快。
“哦，我不介意，”她说，“我不着急很。我对我的方式很到临终关怀（救济院）“。
我看着她，发现她的眼睛闪着泪花。
“我没有任何家庭离开，”她继续说，“医生说我活不长。”
我悄悄地伸手关掉米（计程表）。“什么路线你要我走？”我问。
在接下来的两个小时，我们驱车穿过城市。她向我展示了她曾经工作的建设。我们开车经过，她和她的丈夫还活着的时候被新婚附近。她停在我认为曾经是舞厅，她去了一个女孩跳舞的房子前面。有时，她会叫我慢在一个特定的建筑物或角落盯着前方，并会在黑暗中坐，一言不发。
作为第一缕阳光，看到，她突然说，“我累了。让我们现在就去。“
我们驱车在沉默，她会给予我的地址。当我们停下来，我打开后备箱（行李箱），并注意到她的小提包到门口。
“多少钱我赔你？”
“没事。”
“你必须谋生。”
“有是其他乘客，”我回答。
几乎想也没想，我弯下腰，给了她一个拥抱（拥抱）。她紧紧地抱着我。
“你给了一个老女人的喜悦小的时刻。”她说，“谢谢你。”
我挤（握）她的手，然后进入昏暗的晨光中走去。在我身后，一进门关。那是一个生命结束的声音。
