翻译：(天空中），江面上的烟雾都消散尽净，天与远山都显现着同样的颜色。（我乘船）随水流漂浮游荡，任凭船儿随水漂去。从富阳到桐庐，大约一百多里，奇峭的山奇异的水，是天下独一无二的美景。
水都呈青绿色，深深的江水清澈见底。江底游动的鱼儿和细沙碎石，一直看下去毫无障碍。湍急的水流比箭还快，迅猛的大浪像狂奔的快马。
夹江两岸的高山上都生长着耐寒常绿的树木；（高山）凭借着山势，竞争着向上，相互比高远。（群山）互相竞争着高耸笔直的向上，形成成千成百无数的山峰。泉水冲击着岩石，发出泠泠的清越的泉声。美丽的百鸟相向和鸣，唱出和谐动听的嘤嘤声。蝉儿长时间地叫个不停，猿猴也长时间地叫个不断。那些像老鹰飞到天上一样（为名利极力追求高位）的人，望见这里的山峰，追逐名利的心就平静下来；那些忙于办理政务的人，看到（这些幽美的）山谷，（就会）流连忘返。横斜的树枝遮蔽在上面，即使在白天也像黄昏时那样昏暗；稀疏的枝条交相掩映，有时可以（从枝叶的空隙中）见到阳光。
22 五柳先生传 陶渊明

译文： 先生不知道是什么地方的人，也不知道他的姓和字。房子旁边有五棵柳树，就以此为号。先生闲适安静且很少说话，不羡慕荣华富贵。喜欢读书，但只求领会要旨；每对书中的内容有所领会，就会高兴得忘了吃饭。爱好喝酒，但家境贫寒而不能常喝。亲戚朋友知道他有此嗜好，有时摆了酒席来招待他；去喝酒就喝个尽兴，期望一定喝醉。（只要）喝醉了就回家去，并不装模作样，说走就走。 简陋的居室里空荡荡，不能遮蔽风雨烈日；粗布短衣上打了补丁，盛饭的篮子和喝水用的瓢里常常是空空如也，但他依然安然自若。经常写文章自己娱乐，稍微表露出自己的志向。不把得失放在心上，这样过完自己的一生。
有人称赞道：黔娄的妻子曾经说过：“不为贫贱而忧愁，不热衷于发财做官。”这话大概说的是五柳先生一类的人吧？一边喝酒一边作诗，为自己的志趣而感到快乐。他大概是无怀氏时候的百姓，或是葛天氏时候的百姓吧？
23马说 韩愈
世有伯乐，然后有千里马。千里马常有，而伯乐不常有。故虽有名马，祗(zhǐ)辱于奴隶人之手，骈（pián）于槽（cáo）枥（lì）之间，不以千里称也。
马之千里者，一食（shí）或尽粟（sù）一石（dàn，古音为shí）。食（sì）马者不知其能千里而食（sì）也。是马也，虽有千里之能，食（shí）不饱，力不足，才美不外见（xiàn），且欲与常马等不可得，安求其能千里也？
策之不以其道，食（sì）之不能尽其材，鸣之而不能通其意，执策而临之，曰：“天下无马！”呜呼！其真无马邪（yé）？其真不知马也。
翻译：世上有伯乐，然后才有千里马。千里马经常有，但是伯乐不常有。所以即使有很名贵的马，也只是在仆役的手里受到埋没，跟普通的马一同在马厩里，不以千里马著称。
能日行千里的马，吃一顿有时能吃尽一石粮食。饲养马的人不懂得根据千里马日行千里的特点来喂养它。这样的马，虽然有日行千里的才能，吃不饱，力不足，才能和美好的素质不能显现出来，想要和一般的马一样尚且不可能，怎么能要求它日行千里呢
驱使它不按照驱使千里马的方法，喂养它不能竭尽它的才能，马鸣叫但不能通晓它的意思，拿起马鞭面对千里马说：“天下没有千里马!”唉!难道真的没有千里马吗？其实是他们真的不能识别千里马吧!

余幼时即嗜学。家贫，无从致书以观，每假借于藏书之家，手自笔录，计日以还。天大寒，砚冰坚，手指不可屈伸，弗之怠。录毕，走送之，不敢稍逾约。以是人多以书假余，余因得遍观群书。既加冠（guān ），益慕圣贤之道。又患无硕师名人与游，尝趋百里外。从乡之先达执经叩问，先达德隆望尊，门人弟子填其室，未尝稍降辞色。余立侍左右，援疑质理，俯身倾耳以请；或遇其叱（chì）咄（ō），色愈恭，礼愈至，不敢出一言以复；俟（sì）其欣悦，则又请焉。故余虽愚，卒获有所闻。
当余之从师也，负箧（qiè）曳(yè)屣(xǐ)，行深山巨谷中。穷冬烈风，大雪深数尺，足肤皲（jūn）裂而不知。至舍，四支僵劲（jìng）不能动，媵（yìng）人持汤沃灌，以衾(qīn)拥覆，久而乃和（hé)。寓逆旅，主人日再食，无鲜肥滋味之享。同舍生皆被（pī)绮(qǐ)绣，戴朱缨(yīng)宝饰之帽，腰白玉之环，左佩刀，右备容臭(xiù)，烨(yè)然若神人；余则缊（yùn）袍敝衣处其间，略无慕艳意。以中有足乐者，不知口体之奉不若人也。盖余之勤且艰若此。
翻译：我幼年的时候就特别爱好学习。但是家里贫穷，没办法买书来看,常常向有藏书的人家借，用手亲自抄录，算好约定的日子归还。（即使）天气非常寒冷，砚台里的水结成了坚硬的冰，手指冻僵不能弯曲伸直，也不停止抄书。抄录完毕，跑着送过去，不敢稍微超过约定的期限。因此人们都（愿意）把书借给我，我因此能够读到各种各样的书。已经到了成年，（我）更加仰慕圣贤的学说，又担心自己无法和才学渊博的老师、有名望的人交流。我曾经奔向百里之外，手捧着经书向当地有道德有学问的前辈请教。前辈德高望重，（向他求教的）学生挤满了他的屋子，（他）也没有稍微把话说得柔和一点，把脸色放温和一些。我站在他身旁恭敬的等候着，提出疑问，询问道理，弯着身子侧着耳朵请教；有时会遇到前辈的训斥，我的表情更加恭敬，礼节也更加周到，不敢说一句话来辩解；等到他高兴后,就再次去请教他。因此我很愚笨，但最终（我）还能有所收获。
当我跟从老师学习的时候,背着书箱,拖着鞋子，行走在深深的山坳和巨大的峡谷中。严冬寒风凛冽，踏着几尺深的积雪，脚上的皮肤因为寒冷干燥而破裂却不知道。回到学舍，四肢僵硬动弹不得，服侍的人用热水（为我）浇洗，用被子（将我）裹起来，很久才暖和起来。住在旅馆里,旅店老板每天提供两顿饭，没有新鲜肥美味道好的东西可以享用。与我同住别的同学都穿着华丽的衣服，戴着有红色帽带和珠宝装饰的帽子，腰间佩戴白玉做的玉环，左边佩戴宝刀，右边挂着香袋，光彩照人的样子好像神仙一样；我穿着破旧的衣服生活在他们之间，却毫无羡慕的意思，（那是）因为（我）内心有足以快乐的事（读书），所以不觉得吃的、穿的不如人。我求学的勤劳和艰苦大概就是像这个样子。
