教育家叶圣陶先生说过:“教是为了不教”。本义是指应以培养学生的自我教育能力为最大的目标,我们可以从另外一个意义上理解“学是为了不学”。英语是一门实践性很强的学科,交际是语言最基本的功能。而阅读是语言交际中最重要的一个方面,阅读不仅能帮助学生获取兴趣,开阔视野,吸取丰富的语言知识,还能扩大词汇量,促进听、说、写的能力发展。因此,有必要对有助于小学生英语阅读能力发展的学习策略进行指导,为今后更好的阅读打下扎实的基础。 一、组织阅读活动的策略 (一)阅读前——朗读拓展促阅读 很多研究表明,如果语篇涉及读者熟悉的主题,他们就能顺利理解文章中的信息,相反,如果不熟悉语篇主题,就会出现障碍。因此,应在学生阅读前,运用学生已有的知识结构,为学生创造足够多的机会朗读语篇的相关内容,使学生对即将要阅读的内容有一定的了解,为获得更好的阅读效果作铺垫。 (二)阅读中——阅读过程技巧与方法的调控 在教学过程中,无论是知识的获得,还是智力的开发和能力的发展;无论是情感、意志的培养,还是思想品德的提高,都必须通过学生的自主学习和不断探究。教师无法代替学生读书,也无法代替学生分析思考,教师既不能把知识生硬地灌输到学生的头脑里,也不能把思想观点移植到学生的头脑中。因此,我觉得在阅读过程中培养学生自主阅读、思考的方式,引导学生逐步掌握阅读技巧和方法是非常重要的。 1. 保证学生足够的自主探究时间 苏霍姆林斯基说:“教室里寂静,学生集中思索,要珍惜这样的时刻。”在实际课堂中,我发现很多教师在提问后就马上叫学生回答,不给学生时间去思考。如回答不出,教师或是不断重复问题,或是忙着启发(很多情况下是暗示)。试想,在这么短的时间内,学生的思考能有一定深度吗?学生能获得多少“顿悟”和思维的闪光呢?可学生为了迎合老师的心理,匆忙寻找只言片语作答,表面上气氛活跃,实际上是走进了繁琐而肤浅的一问一答的圈子中去了。为了改变这种状况,教师应在提问后给学生一些独立思考的时间,让他们潜心读书,深入思考,当学生回答过程中遇到困难时,教师要以期待的目光鼓励学生积极思考。这个等待的时间虽短,却正是学生思维最为紧张活跃的时刻。 2. 培养学生提问的能力 在现实教学中我们可以发现,我们的学生对教师的提问可以对答如流,但是学生用英语提问的能力却与之相距甚远。培养学生提问的能力有助于学生养成按意群阅读的良好习惯,提高阅读的速度及效率。在教学中,我给学生机会进行提问,其目的就是在教学中逐步培养学生提问的能力。 3. 逐步渗透难点词、短语 在阅读教学中,将影响学生阅读的难点词、短语逐个地渗透到各个环节中,让学生在更加简短的语篇的阅读过程中、在图片看说过程中、在其运用过程中将这些词和短语理解并掌握,而不是像对话课教学一样,刻意地将它们逐个进行教学。 4. 感知——理解——运用 英语阅读是非常复杂的心理认知活动,是读者通过感知书面语言材料,进而对其进行编码重组、解析破译,再现作者提供的完整信息的过程。感知是读者对书面材料的识别和辨认,其意义在于获得基本信息,为对语言材料的编码重组进行硬件上的准备,这是阅读中的信息交换过程。理解则需要读者运用已有的知识和经验,对所感知的书面语言材料的基本信息进行编码,然后重组,解析破译出作者所表达的思想,全面准确地把握阅读材料的信息,这是一个复杂的信息处理过程,也是读者得以顺利有效地进行阅读的关键环节。 5. 整体理解 在阅读过程中,遇到生词、难句是在所难免的。如果碰到生词、难句就追根刨底,孤立地思考,甚至还想把它译成汉语才能罢休,其结果不但影响了阅读速度,也不利于养成良好的阅读习惯。因此,应养成从文章的篇章结构入手,越过少量生词、难句所造成的阅读障碍,领会文章的主体思想,理清文章的脉络层次,然后从整体上对词句进行推敲,攻克难关,最后又回到对全文进行归纳总结的良好阅读习惯上。使阅读从感性认识进一步升华形成理性认识,从而加快阅读文章的速度,提高对文章理解的正确性。 (三)阅读后——语篇的有效延伸 小学生阅读能力的提高虽然主要依靠课内阅读,但不能仅仅满足于此。课内阅读是基础,课外延伸是补充。实践经验证明,课外阅读不但能促进学生英语阅读理解能力的提高,还能有效促进学生英语综合技能的发展。 1. 选择课堂教学的拓展语篇 选择一些与课堂上教学内容相关的拓展语篇,既可以帮助学生巩固课堂的学习,又可以锻炼学生的阅读能力。2 .选择生活化的拓展语篇 许多调查表明,语篇内容的生活化可以使学生更易理解,有助于学生更好的阅读,并习得一些生活、学习的经验。3. 带着任务阅读 许多实践证明,无论是课内还是课外,让学生带着任务去阅读的有效性是毋庸置疑的。因此,给学生课外拓展语篇的同时应给予一定的任务,如:(1)给语篇取个小标题。(2)回答与语篇相关的几个问题。(3)联系上下文猜几个生词的词义。(4)判断与语篇相关的句子。 4. 阅读结果的反馈 及时有效的反馈语篇阅读的结果能促进学生更好的阅读,提高课外阅读的效率。但在实际教学中,由于课堂时间有限,很难做到面面俱到。因此可将班级分成若干个阅读小组,并委任一些阅读组长,让课外阅读的结果在小组里进行反馈,让每位学生在小组里分享彼此的信息与感受。这样,既能让学生对课外阅读有所坚持,又能在课外阅读中有所得,分享乐趣。 总之,正确的阅读教学方法有利于学生提高阅读技能,高效的阅读能力需要培养和训练,教师只有通过研究学生的认知特点和阅读策略,才能制定切实可行的阅读教学方法,实施有效的英语阅读教学策略,为学生的终身发展奠定基础。
