I was not able to get high marks when I was in primary school. Teachers didn't like me because I was not a good student. Mother considered me as a bad kid. They hurt me by thinking I am a retarded child. But I am no fool. Almost all of my paintings were showed in public. Many famous artists had praised me for my paintings. They called me "little prodigy". And dad was on my side too. He encouraged me to do what I liked and what I thought was proper. He told me that interest is the best teacher, Dad did what he could to develop my talent fully. I believe that interest together with hard work will make me a successful artist in the near future.
小学的时候我学习不好，总得不了高分。老师认为我不是好学生，妈妈也把我看成是坏孩子。我伤心极了，他们肯定都以为我是一个笨孩子，可我并不笨。我画的画经常拿出去展览，有许多著名的艺术家还夸奖过我呢，他们说我是小神童。爸爸也支持我，他鼓励我做自己喜欢做和认为对的事情，还告诉我兴趣是最好的老师。爸爸尽力创造机会让我发挥自己的天赋。我相信兴趣加努力会让我在不久的未采成为一名有成就的画家。

Christmas Day is important in western countries. It comes on December 25. People have several days off from their work. They go back home to get together for a big dinner. There is a Christmas tree in each family. It is decorated with small things and bright lights. During Christmas Day, many shops are busy selling goods as presents. On that day people often exchange presents. Children like the festival because they can receive many beautiful presents.圣诞节在西方国家是很重要的节日，它是指12月25日那天。人们有几天假期。他们回到家中举办一个家庭宴会。每个家庭都有一棵圣诞树，树上全是小的装饰品和亮亮的灯。圣诞节期间，许多商店忙着卖一些作礼物的商品，人们互相交换礼物。孩子们喜欢这个节日，因为他们可以收到许多美丽的礼物。
At night children go to bed early, hanging stockings beside the beds and waiting for Father Christmas. They think he comes down from the chimney and puts the presents into their stockings. How happy children are on that day!晚上孩子们很早上床，在旁边挂上长统袜等待圣诞老人，因为他们认为圣诞老人会从烟囱上下来，把礼物放在长统袜里。那一天孩子们是多么幸福啊!

Youth
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind;
it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees;

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to st.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing appetite for what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart, there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from man and from the infinite, so long as you are young.
When your aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you’ve grown old, even at 20; but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there’s hope you may die young at 80.

With the development of the modern society, we students in China have more and more pressure. We have to spare every minute to study very hard and join various kinds of out-of-class training courses to improve ourselves. So we are really in lack of me-time which is helpful to keep ourselves from being over-stressed、tired and worried.
I do not have as much fun as before and I always miss my childhood. Three hours of homework and two piano lessons one day make me have hardly any me-time to relax myself. I was once an active basketball player on my school team. But now, basketball, my best friend, I haven’ touched it for almost two months. Me- time seems to have become a luxury.
Last week, when I heard there was going to be a basketball match between our school and No 1 Middle School, I was so excited that I rushed home and told my parents the news. I asked my father, “ Dad, may I play basketball after school ? The coach says I am the best guard in our school. If I join the school basketball team, we are sure to beat No 1 Middle School this time.” My father showed his dispproval and said, “ Of course you can’t . I’m disappointed at you. Why do you have such a silly idea? Don’t forget to work hard on your schoolwork and piano lessons.” In my parents’ points of view, playing basketball is a waste of time
As far as I’m concerned, the school assignment to the junior school students is too heavy. To grow into healthy and well-rounded alts, we should be allowed to have more me-time for relaxation. The pressure put on our students by excessive schoolwork can cause serious stress, which is unhealthy physically and mentally.
My dear teachers, I hope you can assign less homework so we students can enjoy a period of me-time.
