⑷ 阅读英文短文有什么好处，我感觉不到

其实语言的抄东西不是一天就可以练就的，那是一个日积月累的过程。短文有什么好处呢？一，正如你说的，单词的收获。二，是句法的熟悉。一般教材选择的短文，虽然在口语的应用方面自然不是很实用，但是对你熟悉英文的句子结构很有帮助，因为在这些文章里，句子结构都是比较规范和严谨的。 三，锻炼语感。语言的东西，说穿了就是要多看多听。大部分人在没有很好地掌握一种语言的时候，挑战长篇是很有难度的，一般都坚持不下去。短篇就不同了，就算你不认识很多单词，一样可以猜出大概的意思，所以可以完成阅读。久而久之，你就对英文有了概念。
也许你读了十几个短篇，你觉得没有大的收获。那么50个100个以后，你就会发现质的飞跃了。首先你要接受这种语言，你才能学好它。
这是我的切身体验。我曾经英文成绩很差，但是后来托福雅思都取得了非常好的成绩。我是结合多读（短文就占了很大部分，包括很多杂志上的文章），多看（这就是个很享受的过程了，多看美剧和美国电影），多写和多讲。

如果是平时的阅读练习，我提点建议：
1、寻找难度适中的阅读材料。
一个基本的难度判断标准是：随意挑选材料的两三段文字读一下，如果约每50个单词出现的生词（重复的算一个）不多于5个，说明这篇文章难度适中，可以使用。5－10个之间，需要先查一下主要生词再阅读。超过10个的，建议暂不尝试。
对于难度适中的阅读材料，阅读速度慢的问题只能靠多读来改进。一篇文章可以读两到三篇，但更重要的是多读不同的文章。以每次读300字计，读过30－50次后，速度就会明显提高。也可以一次边续阅读更长的内容了。

2、对于阅读中遇到的生词
不一定都要去查意思。基本不影响文章理解的，可以不用查。但是，读过的文章中出现的生词／词组，最好至少查几个你最感兴趣的，并且记下他们的主要义项。有的单词／词组义项较多，不用全记，只记文章中用到的义项即可。针对此义项，或者将例句记下，或者自己造一个句子，写在义项后面。平时经常翻看一下。

3、如果感觉当前应达标水平的阅读材料普遍存在生词太多的情况，就要专门背一下单词了。不要盲目背，就背本阶段要求的单词表，从低级往高级背。如四六级单词、我当年用的刘毅单词也不错。但同时仍然要坚持阅读，并且重点背阅读与单词表中都出现的生词。
