第一节精读课，我们静静地坐在教室里等着班主任的到来，A young lady迈着轻盈的步伐走进教室，“Oh my god!”班主任竟然这么年轻这么modern！只见她中等身材，一头卷卷的黄色中长发衬着她白白的皮肤，她冲我们微微一笑，words从她的口中涌了出来：“First, I think I should introce myself. My name is...”那熟练的口语和自然的动作惊得我们目瞪口呆，她看到我们都傻乎乎地看着她，又笑了一笑：“I'm not a tiger, I'm a woman, so don't be afraid of me.”一句话把大家都逗笑了。“你们看我很年轻是吗？我原先一直都带研究生班，所以请你们相信我，只要你们好好学，成绩是不会有问题的……”她一会儿说英语一会儿又用汉语给我们解释，第一节课就在我们的吃惊和羡慕中结束了。
在接下来的日子里她带给了我们点点滴滴的感动。对于外语系的学生来说，第一学期的语音特别重要，她就让我们一个个轮流到她面前读文章，发现不正确的地方她就帮我们纠正。有的同学口音重，她就一遍遍不厌其烦地教并不停地鼓励他们。为了督促我们记单词，她每节课都抽出一段时间让我们默写单词。英语的翻译对我们来说也特别重要，但我们时常却做不好。她让我一个个地拿着译文看她批改，然后她指出哪儿表达不严密，哪儿因粗心掉了词，哪儿是中文式的直译以后要特别注意等等，我们不由得都被她的耐心所深深折服。
在生活上，她鼓励我们多去看看外面的世界。如果我们遇到什么问题问她，她也热情帮助。当我们感到失落时，她就会鼓励我们，使我们尽快走出茫然的误区，微笑着去面对学习和生活。没有她，也许就没有我开心的最初的大学生活。那句“I'm not a tiger”也深深地印在我的脑海里。
